This crash happened at the Denver R/C Eagles site and was a result of a stuck right aileron. A simple check of the control surfaces before takeoff could have pointed out the aileron issue and a simple fix would have had the model up in the air in no time. A good lesson for all us who fly!
I installed a MAS Calendar page on the web site to easily track upcoming events. Members can add events after you log into the site. You should be able to access the calendar from the “Events Calendar” option on the left hand portion of your dashboard. Please let me know if you have any questions on using the Calendar.
Happy Flying!
All AMA members should review the FAA’s Aviation Rulemaking Committee (ARC) detail located at:
http://www.modelaircraft.org/news/ama-faa.aspx
From the document, “AMA President’s Perspective, Model Aviation, June 2009“:
The purpose of this ARC, as established in order number 1110.150, was to draft recommendations for the FAA to consider in developing a regulatory basis for the operation of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) in the National Airspace System (NAS).
