“Informal” Snowbird Fun Fly for New Years Day!

An annual tradition occurs every New Years Day here at MAS, club members make their way out to the field in the cold morning of January 1st to claim a first flight of the New Year.  Usually an event called Snowbird is organized to have some fun and camaraderie , adding fun competition and also some good food.  But unfortunately COVID did not allow the club to officially have the event this time, but that didn’t stop some members from heading out there anyways, in the name of tradition.

So, since we knew there would be members flying anyways we decided to award to the ugly Snowbird trophy to one of those present.   Bill Dewald happened to be the first one airborne that day so he was awarded the Honorary Snowbird Trophy!  Congrats Bill!  If you see Bill be sure and give him a hard time about it! (He likes that ;-))
